Position Details
- Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
- Location: Hybrid, ideally from Peterborough, Ontario. Other locations across Canada considered.
Organizational Relationship This role reports to the Director, Human Resources and works closely with the HR Operations Specialist and Business Unit leaders.
Role Overview We’re building the foundation for an integrated, scalable, and people-first talent experience, and we’re looking for someone who wants to be a part of shaping that from the ground up.
As our Talent Acquisition & Development Specialist, you will lead full-cycle recruitment while playing a key role in developing the internal tools, processes, and frameworks that support career growth, job clarity, and leadership development. You’ll help bring great people into the business and make sure we have the infrastructure to support them once they’re here.

Key Responsibilities Talent Acquisition
- Own end-to-end recruitment for a range of roles across departments and regions
- Partner with hiring managers to refine job descriptions and clarify role expectations
- Create and manage job postings, sourcing strategies, and outreach campaigns
- Guide candidates through a best-in-class hiring process, from application to offer
- Develop standardized intake and interview tools to support hiring consistency
- Track and report on key hiring metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, pipeline quality, source performance)
- Integrate retention-focused strategies into recruitment by evaluating role design, internal mobility pathways, and manager readiness
- Collaborate with HR leadership to identify risk factors contributing to turnover during recruitment and onboarding
Role & Process Development
- Help audit and standardize job descriptions across the organization
- Support HR in grouping roles into logical families and drafting internal levels
- Contribute to the development of a job architecture and early-stage pay bands
Talent and Leadership Development Enablement
- Collaborate on designing internal job posting and internal mobility processes
- Support the rollout of a refreshed performance development framework
- Help create templates and toolkits that make career progression more visible and actionable
- Contribute to early-stage leadership development planning, including documentation of competencies, promotion criteria, and foundational leader support
Operational & Systems Support
- Maintain clear documentation and templates in shared systems
- Work closely with the HR Operations Specialist to support onboarding and systems alignment
- Assist in future HRIS improvements related to talent acquisition and employee growth
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Strong understanding of recruitment, onboarding, and internal mobility strategies
- Ability to design equitable and scalable hiring processes
- Systems-thinking mindset that connects recruitment with retention and development
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple roles and stakeholders independently
- Comfort navigating ambiguity in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with performance development and leadership development frameworks
Education And Experience
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Valuable and applicable experience in talent acquisition, ideally within a high-growth or multi-entity organization
- Proven ability to manage full-cycle recruitment independently
- Experience in performance or career development frameworks
- Experience partnering with hiring managers and influencing hiring decisions
- Strong writing skills (e.g., job ads, templates, documentation)
- Comfort with various HR systems and platforms (e.g., ATS (Mindscope), HRIS, etc.)
- Solid understanding of job description development and internal mobility processes
