Position Summary:
Location: Wingham, Ontario (in-person position)
Our Ontario-based team is continuing to grow and we are seeking a project leader with significant construction experience. As Project Leader you will be expected to bring creativity to our project planning, value engineering, and assist in streamlining our business for increased efficiencies. The current portfolio of opportunities is a mix of municipal, private, and general building maintenance with commercial clients in Ontario.
As sales volumes increase, the incumbent would be required to help grow the team both in terms of personnel and technology used to manage and monitor all project work. The incumbent will be required to be the driver of continuous improvement initiative and evolve policies & procedures to meet the growing business needs.

Position Qualifications:
Education & Knowledge
- Post secondary school education in an Engineering, procurement, or construction (EPC) discipline
- Knowledge of building concepts and fundamentals
- Familiar with Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking
- Self-Starter with excellent time management
- Organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work within software utilized for project management purposes
Experience
- Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in a construction or EPC environment
- 3 – 5 years of working with software and tools for project management
Communication
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written)
- Able to work independently and as a team
Responsibilities:

Complete a concept build plan to assist with material and support services purchases.
-
As sales volumes increase and there is need to hire additional personnel, to be able to assist with recruitment of new hires, onboard and train personnel and lead the department.

Review and understand job specifications, scope of work, contracts, for each project.
-
Develops and maintains the project schedule and budget.
-
Review Sales Orders for accuracy and completion prior to processing.
-
Evaluates and recommends design changes, specifications and drawing releases.
-
Prepare documents for each project in accordance with the established templates and government guidelines.
-
Maintain project management files and documents; electronic and hard copy (where necessary).
-
Process invoices in a timely manner.
-
Manage Project scheduling; ensure project milestones are met by all parties, including the Building Consultants, Customers, Installers, Suppliers and various Britespan departments.
-
Assisting in the project management and coordination of schedules, manpower, customer relations, engineering, and procurement.
-
Identifies project manpower requirements and coordinates manpower with appropriate trades and subcontractors.
-
Maintain regular communication with sales team, project coordinator, site managers, clients, trades, and all other stakeholders for each project to ensure effective coordination of construction activities.

Support project sites with day-to-day operations and problem solving.
-
Manage and maintain project schedule (construction crews, general labor).
-
Assist with crew leader, and crew labor recruitment & development.
-
Maintain good subcontractor and project owner relationships.
-
Build and maintain regional sub-contractor pipeline.
-
Source and secure labor, rental equipment, procurement of in-house and external components to support increased efficiency and profitability.
-
Maintain relationship with various head office departments to ensure project execution.
Reporting
- Ensure Sub-Contractors follow company policies and government legislation as required.
- Promptly escalates any potential delays to ensure they are addressed in a timely.
- Assists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required.
- Manage Inventory and complete Cycle Counts.
- Visit sites as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Knowledge of Microsoft Software, Site Docs, Field Wire or other Project Management software or systems is an asset.
