As the SAP Ariba Administrator, you will be an essential part of the SAP Ariba support process as the owner of all data elements and configurations in the SAP Ariba system. You will be responsible for providing SAP Ariba support throughout the procurement-to-pay lifecycle and will be Supply Management's first point of contact and coordinator for functional/technical issues and system modifications. You will determine system functionality that can be utilized by relevant users and lead the creation, maintenance, and delivery of training tools/resources for SAP Ariba. This position is part of Supply Management's Business Excellence team. Primary duties include:
- Support and administer the SAP Ariba system and all business needs relating to the system, including but not limited to system profile setup, determining system capacity, analyzing logic, testing, configuration, resolving functional problems, and ensuring system and data integrity.
- Manage SAP Ariba system help desk ticketing intake for the Corporation. Anticipate and prevent potential problems through root cause analysis, investigate and monitor identified functional / technical / process / training issues, manage priority status, actively work to resolve issues in timely manner, and escalate system issues as required.
- Work with external support partners to address and resolve functional/technical system issues.
- Coach, support, and communicate with City staff and potential suppliers on SAP Ariba technologies, system navigation and use, best practices, and system upgrades/changes.
- Lead the creation, maintenance, delivery of SAP Ariba training tools/resources, and conduct ad-hoc and planned training sessions for partners.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for system and process improvements that align with business objectives.
- Evaluate potential system upgrades, modifications, and integrations. Collaborate and coordinate with IT team and other internal partners to define scope and testing procedures / cases. Complete system testing and implement system improvements, including rollout to affected staff.
Qualifications
- A degree in Business Administration, Supply Management, Information Systems Management, business intelligence, or other related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as an information system administrator for an enterprise-wide system. Experience should include developing and maintaining training tools/resources and delivering training to various partners, leading design and solution development workshops with various partners, systems implementations, and integrations as well as application testing.
- Experience with SAP Ariba or other similar e-procurement systems as an experienced user or as an administrator is preferred.
- SAP Certified Application Associate for Sourcing, Contract Management, and/or Supplier Management certification is considered an asset.
- Certification in Procurement, Supply Management, and/or Contract Management would be an asset.
- Knowledge of public procurement and processes would be an asset.
- Strong data analysis and processing skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams), as well as the MS SharePoint would be a strong asset.
- Ability to proactively identify issues and develop appropriate resolution while working independently.
- Geared towards action, committed to continuous improvement, and dedicated to quality.
- Ability to set priorities and carry out tasks in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with internal and external customers.

Workstyle
- This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
