About the role

TEMPORARY MARKETING COORDINATOR

We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a temporary full-time Marketing Coordinator for at least 24 months. This role plays a key part in supporting marketing and communications initiatives across the organization.

Reports To: Manager, Marketing & Communication

Primary Purpose:

The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for supporting marketing initiatives and projects across all lines of business at Northern Savings through the development and implementation of marketing strategies, promotional activities and community reinvestment initiatives. This position will ensure all products, services, channels and programs are aligned with brand standards and contribute to the achievement of the strategic goals and Northern Savings’ vision of neighbours helping neighbours to build sustainable communities.

Duties:

  • Involved in the planning, development and execution of the annual promotions calendar.
  • Identifies and scopes campaign and promotional opportunities throughout the year; including campaign budget, sales goals, and channel preparation.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders to manage promotional and campaign initiatives.
  • Compiles, analyzes and disseminates campaigns and promotional results.
  • Assists with the execution and ongoing maintenance of the credit union’s digital media platforms and social media channels.
  • Daily management, enhancement and maintenance of internal and external websites focusing on content, functionality, and ease of use.
  • Works directly with operations team to identify and execute existing member initiatives and sales activities.
  • Coordinate and evaluate requests for sponsorships, donations, and credit union involvement.
  • Develops marketing initiatives and member communication plans that are optimized to deliver a positive member experience.
  • Manages organization risk by drafting, proof-reading and editing of written materials – complying with organizational security and risk procedures.
  • Conducts market research to ensure products and services are in-line with competition and effectively meet the current and future needs of members.
  • Works with third party vendors on the procurement of Northern Savings’ giveaways and other marketing elements.
  • Receives incoming emails and disseminates information to appropriate business units.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Secondary School Diploma required.
  • Post-secondary education specializing in marketing, communications and/or business studies.

Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a marketing or communications related role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience within the credit union/financial system is an asset.

Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite specifically in: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Passionate about social media and technology.
  • Experience with both traditional and digital marketing.
  • Principles of website design and user experience is an asset.
  • Strong quality management and attention to detail.
  • Autonomous, creative and curious mind, positive attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work within time constraints, under pressure and competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of financial industry terms and concepts.
  • Knowledge/experience of the following would be an asset:
    • Social Media Platforms
    • Content Management System
    • HTML
    • Search Platforms
