Location: Royal Avenue YMCA (620 Royal Avenue, New Westminster) / Hybrid

Term: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: 35 hours per week

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: $54,000- $56,000 annually

Reports To: Manager, Government Relations, Marketing and Strategy

Nature & Scope

Reporting into the Manager, Government Relations, Marketing and Strategy, the Business Analyst supports YMCA BC’s strategic priorities by providing research, data analysis, and project coordination across key initiatives. This role drives process improvements, enables data-informed decision-making, and fosters cross-departmental collaboration. By identifying growth opportunities and streamlining tools and systems, the Business Analyst helps ensure efficient execution and alignment with organizational goals.

Major Responsibilities**-** in this position, you will**:**

  • Assist in identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement across YMCA BC’s operations by developing tools, templates, and best practices that enhance execution and collaboration.
  • Support the Government Relations team with research, preparation of briefing materials, tracking of key policy developments, and identification of advocacy opportunities.
  • Analyze financial trends and community needs to support the identification of growth and revenue opportunities aligned with YMCA BC’s strategic goals.
  • Support the planning, tracking, and execution of strategic initiatives across departments and portfolios, ensuring projects are delivered on time and in alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to interpret and present data related to program outcomes, engagement, and financial performance, translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Promote cross-departmental knowledge-sharing and relationship-building to ensure cohesive and mission-driven execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Support the development of presentations and briefing decks for internal leadership, external partners, funders, and government stakeholders.

Qualification**-you bring:**

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in business analysis, strategic framework, or project coordination.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with process mapping, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
