Nortera Tecumseh is currently looking for a highly motivated, energetic team member to join our Maintenance Department as a full-time Millwright Mechanic. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and following the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright Mechanic is responsible for providing a key skill set of technical skills and production skills required across various departments and objectives.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform installations and maintenance, including changing layouts and setting up all machinery as directed by maintenance or production leadership.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of conveying equipment such as pumps, shakers, etc.
- Start up and observations of machines to detect malfunctions and makes required adjustments and repairs, while adhering to all plant safety rules and regulations.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements and perform all work in a safe manner following all established policies and procedures.
- Document all maintenance activities and logging them accordingly, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Attend training sessions or utilize other methods to acquire knowledge of seaming equipment or systems.
- All other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS OF THIS ROLE:

Industrial Millwright Mechanic (433A) certification is required for this role.

Must be mechanically inclined, minimum 2-3 years of relative experience – food canning line is considered an asset
-
Must be capable of speaking, reading, and writing English at a Level 3 requirement.
-
Must meet basic dexterity requirements such as bending, twisting, reaching, grasping, crouching, stair/ladder climbing, working at heights, and lift up to 50lbs (ie: heavy lifter).
-
Specific vision abilities are required including by not limited to close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
-
Confirmed acceptance of working in hot, humid, wet, damp, soapy, dusty, loud/noisy, dimly lit work environment.
-
Be technically trained/trainable in all aspects of our plant equipment, systems, and platforms including basic computer and mathematical work.
-
Must have the ability to make quick, accurate decisions, working under pressure and tight operational deadlines.

Open availability with willingness to work various shifts throughout the week including the continental, night shift, on call, statutory holidays, overtime, and weekends.

Proven ability to work effectively as a team - collaborating and effectively communicating.

Demonstrates work place safety is a priority and aligns well with the company’s “Vision, Mission, and Values” statement.

Hourly wage range for this role is $41.63 - $45.69
