Position Title: Guest Services Agent

Reports To: Guest Services Manager

Employment Type: Hourly Full-Time & Part-Time

Availability:

Full-Time: 28 - 40 hours/week

Part-Time: Up to 28 hours/week

Rate of Pay: $17.38-18.38 per hour

Start Date: June 2026

Department: Front Office

Location: Delta Hotels By Marriott Halifax Downtown, Halifax, NS

General Overview:

The Guest Services team is responsible for the overall guest experience from arrival to

departure, including check-in, check-out, and guest inquiries. This is an excellent front line opportunity for someone looking to begin or advance a career in the hotel industry.

Guest Services Agents play a vital role in the guest experience by acting as a host for the

hotel, ensuring each guest receives a warm welcome, efficient service, and prompt

assistance. This position requires the ability to multitask, attention to detail, and a

commitment to upholding service standards. Guest Services Agents typically work in a

team environment, handling a variety of guest interactions throughout their shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Perform check-in and check-out procedures according to brand and property

standards.

  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and feedback in a prompt, courteous, and

professional manner.

  • Handle guest payments, process transactions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain the security and privacy of guest information at all times.
  • Follow all safety and security policies, including emergency procedures and fire

safety protocols.

  • Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards to leadership.
  • Participate in departmental communication meetings.
  • Embrace and uphold the hotel's Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Other Abilities, Skills and Competencies:

  • Friendly, enthusiastic demeanor with a neat, professional appearance.
  • Strong guest service skills with a genuine desire to exceed expectations.
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Well-organized with the ability to multitask and work efficiently.
  • Reliable and flexible, with availability for varied shifts including evenings, weekends,

and holidays.

  • Physically capable of standing for long periods and performing repetitive movements.
  • Self-motivated, able to solve problems, take initiative, and complete tasks with

minimal supervision.

  • Comfortable using computers and learning software
  • Previous front desk or customer service experience is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast paced environment that is often demanding
  • Stand, walk and remain on feet to perform job duties for entire shift duration
  • Available for working a variety of shifts which includes weekends, statutory holidays,
  • evenings and overnights as required
