As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure that supports both product development and analytical workloads. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists, to build resilient systems for ETL pipelines, real-time analytics, and SaaS applications. This role offers the opportunity to influence architecture decisions, ensure operational excellence, and implement automation and monitoring solutions that guarantee availability, security, and performance. Your contributions will directly support stakeholders across utilities, market aggregators, and building operators, helping them gain actionable insights from large-scale data. You will also mentor colleagues and help drive best practices in cloud deployment, CI/CD, and cost-efficient infrastructure management.
Accountabilities:
- Implement and maintain automated infrastructure in Google Cloud using infrastructure-as-code practices
- Design and manage deployment pipelines enabling zero-downtime releases, automated rollbacks, and infrastructure validation
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams to develop resilient data processing systems for ETL, ELT, data warehousing, and real-time analytics
- Ensure cloud infrastructure meets security, compliance, and operational standards
- Develop Python-based APIs to integrate infrastructure with customer-facing applications
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability tools to maintain high availability and performance
- Support cloud architecture and resource optimization, including cost governance and scaling strategies
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in cloud, data, or software engineering
- Deep expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform strongly preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for development and analytics tasks
- Experience with analytics infrastructure, such as BigQuery, Spark, Snowflake, or similar platforms
- Familiarity with OLTP databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) and cloud networking/security (IAM, VPC)
- Strong CI/CD pipeline development experience (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and cloud-native performance optimization
- Preferred: experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures, Cloud Run, GKE, Compute Engine, and domain knowledge in utilities, meter data, or energy efficiency
