Join us as our new Quality Control Analyst
The Laboratory Analyst will support routine and non-routine operations within the yeast and enzyme laboratories. This role involves following written directions and standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining precise documentation, and developing a strong technical understanding of analytical methods. The successful candidate will contribute to laboratory efficiency, data accuracy, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
In this role you'll make an impact by:
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory analyses related to yeast and enzyme processes.
- Follow written directions, SOPs, and established protocols to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Conduct sample preparation, testing, and data analysis using appropriate analytical methods.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and organized records of all laboratory activities, observations, and results.
- Troubleshoot routine issues with equipment, methods, or samples under guidance.
- Support method development, validation, and optimization for analytical testing.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and used safely.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate findings to supervisors or project leads.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve workflow, accuracy, or efficiency.
To succeed you must hold:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Prior laboratory experience (academic or industrial) in microbiology, fermentation, or enzyme analysis preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic laboratory techniques and good documentation practices (GDP).
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions with high attention to detail.
- Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and equipment handling.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
- Laboratory environment with exposure to chemicals, microorganisms, and specialized equipment.
- Will require flexible scheduling to support experimental timelines and production process.
Location: Ottawa

Expected Salary Range: $ 25 to 28/hr CAD
