Home Care Professional - Evenings & Weekends
About the role
We’re looking for the kind of person who naturally takes care of others.
At Home Instead, we support seniors who want to continue living safely and comfortably in their own homes. The work is simple in concept but meaningful in practice. Sometimes it’s helping someone get ready for bed. Sometimes it’s making a meal, going for a short walk, or just sitting and talking so someone doesn’t feel alone.
Right now we are specifically looking for Care Professionals who are available evenings and weekends. These are important hours for many of our clients and we’re hoping to find people who enjoy quieter visits and helping seniors wind down for the day.
What The Role Looks Like Our Care Professionals support seniors with things like:
- Companionship and conversation
- Preparing simple meals
- Light housekeeping
- Help getting ready for bed
- Personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Medication reminders
- Dementia support and reassurance
Every home is different, and every senior has their own personality and routine. We try our best to match caregivers and clients in a way that feels comfortable for everyone.
Who Tends To Do Well In This Role The people who thrive here are usually:
- Kind and patient
- Calm under pressure
- Reliable and respectful
- Comfortable working independently in someone’s home
- Naturally good with seniors
Caregiving experience or HCA training.
Hours We Are Currently Hiring For
- Evening shifts
- Weekend shifts
- People who can do a mix of both are especially helpful
About Our Team Our culture is very important to us! We try to create an environment where caregivers feel respected, listened to, and appreciated.
Caregiving can be meaningful work, but it also requires the right people. We take our time hiring because the seniors we support deserve thoughtful, kind caregivers.
