Position Purpose**:**

Will assist with review of detailed design drawings related to new subdivisions, assist with review of site alteration permit issuance, grading inspection, surveying, composing letters, memorandums and reports in response to public and inter-departmental inquiries; respond to customer inquiries at the counter and/or telephone; and other duties as determined appropriate for the Development Engineering Division.For full details and qualifications, please see attached job description.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a Civil Engineering student from either an accredited University of Community College, (experience will be eligible to contribute to your P.Eng., C.E.T. or C. Tech. as necessary)
  • Valid Class 'G' Driver's license and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business;
  • Driver's Abstract deemed as satisfactory to the Town, required to operate Corporation vehicles;

JOB DESCRIPTION

**Title:**Engineering Assistant - Student

**Reports To:**Supervisor of Development Engineering

Position Summary

Will assist with review of detailed design drawings related to new subdivisions, assist with review of site alteration permit issuance, grading inspection, surveying, composing letters, memorandums and reports in response to public and inter-departmental inquiries; respond to customer inquiries at the counter and/or telephone; and other duties as determined appropriate for the Development Engineering Division.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with review of site plan proposals including engineering drawings and reports
  • Assisting with compiling of stakeholder comments on engineering designs
  • Inspection of site-grading and field visits as required
  • Assisting with the review of engineering design drawings related to site alteration permits.
  • Assisting with the draft of memorandum and letters
  • And other related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in the Town's Health and Safety Program and follows safety practices in work methods and procedures; observe and comply with all relevant Health & Safety regulations.
  • Attending meetings with external and internal stakeholders as necessary, including Developer representatives and residents.
