VTR is hiring Assembler/Machine Builders to join our growing Assembly and Service team!

Successful candidates will have experience in a similar role, as well as the ability to travel locally and internationally for service trips approximately 10% or 3-5 weeks of the year. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity.

Shift Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8.5-hour Day Shift; Employee must be on-site by 8:00am
  • ½-hour Unpaid lunch from 12:30pm-1:00pm
  • Overtime paid after 40 hours

Wage: $24.00-$40.00+/hour depending on experience

Overview:

  • Report to Electrical Controls & Assembly Team Lead
  • Communication and collaboration with internal departments including Assembly, Project Management, Sales, Design, Manufacturing, and Electrical
  • Accurately interpret drawings, blueprints, manuals, and/or specifications for each assembly and subassembly
  • Fit, assemble, bolt, screw, clip, solder, or otherwise fasten parts, machined parts, and components together using hand or power tools, or other equipment
  • Connect cables, tubes, and wires to complete assemblies and installations
  • Identify, record, and report defects
  • Assist with Pre-FAT testing, project closure, inspection, and evaluation
  • Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
  • Travel for Service trips as needed (approximately 10% or 3-5 weeks of the year)
  • General housekeeping of workspace
  • Adhere to Health & Safety guidelines, as well as VTR’s Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar assembly/machine-building role required
  • Valid Passport and the ability to travel locally and internationally for service required (3-5 weeks of the year/approximately 10% of the year)
  • Experience working in a similar automation environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods and the tools required in various assembly processes
  • Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to safely operate manual mills, lathes, saw as needed
  • Valid forklift and overhead-crane license as an asset, but willing to train
  • Effective verbal and listening communication skills; ability to work in a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety
  • Ability to meet deadlines; adaptive to changing priorities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Comfortable with heavy lifting; able to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Must have own tools and toolbox

  • Must be comfortable lifting up to 50lbs
