To build upon a track record of growth and success, we are looking to add an Operations Manager to support our buisness in Canada. This includes the development and growth of current and new business, supervising the Canada operations organization, and managing supplier relationships to increase overall customer satisfaction.

POSITION FUNCTIONS

  • Lead and manage all aspects of Trucent Canada organization including staffing, facility operations, safety, and financials.
  • Oversee business development, materials procurement, quality, and logistics.
  • Provide strategic and tactical sales support to increase Trucent's market share, sales, and profit and achieve business plan targets.
  • Develop and manage operating budgets and control expenses.
  • Ensure orders are processed according to customer specifications and that quality requirements are met.
  • Schedule and adhere to customer delivery dates.
  • Develop process improvements and corrective actions as necessary.
  • Champion the company's mission, values, and policies.
  • Develop and lead the safety culture by using existing Trucent programs and philosophies.
  • Develop a world-class team. Hire, train, develop, and evaluate employees. Provide regular performance feedback to team members and complete performance reviews once a year.
  • Maintain ongoing dialog with all team members regarding safety, productivity, performance, company goals, events, and policies.
  • Resolve disputes and provide discipline as necessary in accordance with Trucent policies and best practices.
  • Communicatecoordinate efforts with the organization's lab, engineering, operations, accounting, and HR
  • Perform other related duties or special projects.
  • Adhere to all Trucent policies, procedures, and business ethics.

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands (Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job):

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, push, carry, climb, reach, grasp, talk, and hear at both Trucent and customer facilities.
  • Occasional lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, or moving of items not to exceed 50 pounds; negligible physical demand continuously.
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with peripheral vision and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus, to judge distance and space relationships, and to identify and distinguish colors.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions (Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job):

  • Combination of office and plant environment.
  • Wide variety of working conditions, primarily indoors, but some outdoors, with some exposure to both extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, physical hazards (electrical current, oils, chemicals), and adverse atmospheric conditions (fumes, odors, dust, gases, acids). Physical conditions include close proximity to moving mechanical parts.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in equipment or process system sales into metal working, or related, industry. A minimum of 5 years of formal management experience is required.

Skills and Abilities (May be representative but not all-inclusive, of those commonly associated with this position):

  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot equipment within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Knowledge and understanding of separation technologies; knowledge and experience with industrial fluids preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude including knowledge of mechanical engineering and/or skill trades including mechanical, plumbing, and electrical vocations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with vendors, contractors, and customers.
  • Strong customer relationship, account management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define a problem, collect data, and establish facts to draw valid conclusions, make decisions, and solve problems.
  • Capacity to evaluate and improve upon program and solution
  • Knowledge of basic accounting functions and principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and collaborative ability that promote a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgement and make impromptu decisions in time-sensitive situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Thorough knowledge of proprietary products and their applications.
  • Effective time management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Must speak both English and Spanish fluently.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with Mexican business processes and culture is preferred.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 20% - 50% of the time. Occasional travel to the U.S. is required.

  • Computers, Microsoft Office software, printers, calculators, and cell phones
  • Safety equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, footwear, etc. that may be required at customer sites and in the company shop and laboratory.
