About the role
Atlantica is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Financial Accountant in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. As the Senior Financial Accountant is a key member of our Finance team reporting directly to the Director of Finance. In this role, you will provide financial statement preparation, analysis, and financial support to Atlantica and its associated entities.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Finance and working in an exciting and collaborative environment, you will:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and associated workpapers for review and submission to stakeholders.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and related variance analysis with a focus on improving efficiency and performance.
- Ensure general ledger accounts are reconciled monthly including deferred revenue and work-in-progress and that all reconciling items are resolved.
- Reconcile intercompany balances between related parties including divisions, companies, and joint ventures.
- Be responsible for the inventory subledger and facilitate inventory counts and associated correcting entries. • Act as a liaison between the auditors and Atlantica to address auditor queries in a timely manner.
- Lead and/or support finance related projects with a focus on workflow efficiency and process improvement, ensuring changes align with corporate strategy.
- Promote team development and foster an efficient and collaborative work environment.
Who are we looking for?
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a CPA designation.
- 3+ years finance and accounting experience in a multi-company environment.
- Experience with payroll in a unionized environment would be an asset
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
