Job#: 2085750 Job Description: Job Summary Our client, a prominent e-commerce business is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Release Manager to own and uphold the release process for their White label product. This role requires working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Production Operations, Retailer Success, Quality Engineering, and Product Documentation teams to ensure a smooth, consistent, and efficient release process. The ideal candidate will have a strong process-oriented mindset, demonstrated leadership in managing releases, and a proactive approach to making continuous improvements in our workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Release Management and Execution:
- Own, manage, and enforce the White label release process to ensure timely and high-quality releases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and QA teams to plan, coordinate, and execute releases with efficiency.
- Monitor and mitigate risks throughout the release lifecycle to maintain a smooth delivery process.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for releases, ensuring alignment and collaboration between Product, Engineering, Production Operations, Retailer Success, QA, and Documentation teams.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to surface status updates, blockers, and resolutions.
- Support teams in staying compliant with defined workflows and deliverables while improving team alignment.
- Process Guardianship and Improvement:
- Protect the existing release process by upholding clearly defined roles, timelines, and quality gates.
- Continuously evaluate the release pipeline to identify opportunities for optimization and implement improvements over time.
- Maintain robust documentation of the release process and ensure all team members are well-informed.
- Problem-Solving and Agility:
- Proactively address impediments and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain flexibility to assist teams with pressing issues while balancing adherence to process standards.
- Process Automation (Optional):
- Automate repetitive steps or tasks within the release process to enhance efficiency and reduce human error.
- Partner with teams to explore and implement tools that streamline workflows and improve overall process health.
Qualifications Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in release management, program/project management, or similar roles in SaaS, eCommerce, or technology-driven environments.
Skills:
- Proven ability to manage and execute cross-functional initiatives under firm deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.
- Proactive mindset with an ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems.
- Familiarity with process automation tools and techniques is a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies is highly desirable.
Technical Understanding:
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycles and deployment pipelines.
- Familiarity with tools commonly used in release management (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
