Reports to: Director of Operations Direct Reports: Field Technicians and Supervisors, across assigned business lines Hours: Full-time Location: Remote, with occasional travel

What are we looking for? Frontier Technologies is currently seeking an Operations Manager to own the planning and execution of capacity, inventory, fleet, and workforce operations across our business lines (Eastlink, Xplore). As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for aligning demand, technician capacity, and regional coverage; owning inventory, procurement, and fleet operations end-to-end; leading the company safety program; and driving the day-to-day performance of the Technicians and Supervisors who report to you. You will also naturally be committed to safety and to building a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities may include
- Lead capacity and quota planning across business lines (Eastlink, Xplore), ensuring alignment between demand, technician capacity, and regional coverage.
- Own end-to-end inventory and procurement operations (ordering, tracking, usage monitoring, and loss prevention), and manage fleet operations including asset allocation, compliance/documentation, preventative maintenance, and fuel efficiency.
- Own technician certification and training tracking, ensuring certifications and training requirements are proactively managed.
- Lead and administer the company safety program, including monthly safety meetings, compliance tracking, and audit readiness.
- Implement and optimize operational systems and tools for inventory, fleet, and workforce management.
- Own day-to-day field execution for assigned technicians and drive technician and Supervisor performance - productivity, service quality, and customer experience - addressing gaps in real time.
- Partner with Operations leadership, and other teams to align capacity planning with execution needs and to implement and optimize supporting systems.
- Lead and contribute to the continuous improvement and automation roadmap and align with leadership on strategic priorities across safety, revenue, gross margin, and scalability.
- Actively participate in performance management processes for direct reports, including regular reviews, coaching, and feedback.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Qualifications
- Satisfactory Criminal Background check.
- Post-secondary education in operations, business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Experience managing leads, technicians, or field teams, fleet, or inventory operations, ideally in telecommunications or a related field-service industry (an asset).
- Proficiency with operational systems and reporting tools (ERP/inventory, fleet management, workforce scheduling), including advanced Excel skills (an asset).
- Experience managing vendor relationships and procurement processes (an asset).
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong systems thinking and process optimization skills.
- Data-driven decision making with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to plan capacity and allocate quotas across business lines.
- Ability to manage inventory and control operating costs.
- Ability to manage fleet operations, including compliance and maintenance programs.
- Ability to administer a company safety program, including compliance tracking and audit readiness.
- Operational reporting and systems implementation skills.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement and cost optimization.
- Strong people-leadership skills, with the ability to coach Supervisors and Technicians and address performance gaps in real time.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional partnership skills (Operations leadership, Product, and senior leadership).
- Ability to follow established policies & procedures with a strong attention to detail.
- A commitment to continued learning and skills development.
