SUMMARY
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Shipping Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated within the Shipping Department.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
- Assist customers who are picking up orders.
- Answer incoming inquiries (phone and email) from customers and freight companies.
- Assist with building outbound loads, communicate with the Inside Sales team to maximize freight utilization and balance loads.
- Cross-check all confirmed shipping sets for accuracy.
- Coordinate load schedule with customers and trucking companies
- Calculates freight rates for shipments.
- Prepare loading documents to be given to the truck driver.
- Adheres to customer service commitments.
- Adheres to all work safety rules and regulations.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Good knowledge of shipping/logistics practices is an asset.
- Load planning experience is an asset.
- Must be detail conscious while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience within a fast-paced office environment
- Ability to review high volumes of paperwork in a timely manner under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) would be an asset.
- Aptitude for numerical calculations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to communicate effectively with internal staff and work in a team-focused environment.
EDUCATION
High school diploma is a minimum requirement.

**Work Location:**350 De Baets Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2J 0H4
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Temporary Full time: March – October 2026
Must be flexible with start and finish times***.*** Hours may change due to operational requirements.
