About the Role
We’re looking for a proven star to join our team as a Communications and Events Manager. In this role, you will you be developing and executing dynamic proactive and reactive communications and events. We are looking for someone with excellent writing and communications skills, combined with event planning and management experience. This role will have significant impact on the culture, brand, and growth of an industry leader in a rapidly changing environment.
You are a skilled storyteller and passionate about the role great content and events can play in helping to engage our team members and grow our business. You are someone who seeks to understand our business strategy and can relay that strategic direction to a narrative which guides the planning and execution of our internal events. As a skilled events professional, you know how to independently plan, time, target, budget, track, as well as set KPIs and measure communication and event strategies.
Reporting directly to the Director, Corporate Communications, this role is responsible for leading the development and management of communications and internal events. This role is not just about delivering messages; it’s about creating experiences that resonate, educate, and inspire.
What You’ll Do
- Support the achievement of Element’s objectives through the development and execution of strategic corporate communications initiatives
- Lead the seamless planning, management, execution, and follow up of all internal events
- Develop and deliver compelling content for a variety of channels including email, video, infographics, PPT, and events
- Engage with subject matter experts across the business to proactively identify communications needs and support them in the development of communication and event plans
- Work with external partners to coordinate end-to-end production, design, distribution, and translation for content as required
- Develop and manage workflows, budgets, and communications to meet project deliverables
Basic Qualifications
- Education: College/University degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related field
- 5 years in Corporate Communications, Events, or Marketing, with demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex communication and event strategies in B2B and/or B2C environments
- Exceptional writing skills and the ability to produce brand-aligned, strategic, clear, and engaging content in support of business objectives
- High attention to detail, experienced in planning and contingency considerations and flexibility to manage multiple changing factors
- Strong skills in collaboration and time management with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work with all levels of the organization as well as external partners
- High degree of judgement, discretion, and the capability to analyze and solve problems effectively
- A strong and confident self-starter, this person can lead work independently, prioritize, and navigate a very dynamic, fast-paced environment, on a team focused on raising the bar, and learning and growing in an entrepreneurial organization
Location: Toronto, Ontario
The hiring base salary range for this position is $99,200 to $136,400 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
