About the role
Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the South Suffolk team based in Sudbury. This role covers both rural and town localities, requiring a practitioner who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and expert in managing the throughput of assessments and planning. What will your responsibilities be? Statutory Assessments: Undertake robust assessments under Section 17 (Child in Need) and Section 47 (Child Protection) in a timely manner. Caseload Management: Lead and manage cases for children subject to CIN and CP planning, ensuring interventions are outcome-focused. Duty Response: Participate in the duty rota, responding effectively to immediate safeguarding concerns and emerging risks. Locality Coverage: Provide high-quality social work services across the Sudbury area, including both urban and rural environments. Quality & Pace: Maintain a high pace of work to ensure cases move through the system without drift, ensuring children receive the right level of support at the right time. Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role you must have; Social Work England registration and a recognized Social Work qualification. Experience Requirement: Proven experience in Assessment and Duty teams, specifically with S17, S47, and CP planning. Senior Level Skills: Ability to work autonomously on complex cases and support the team during high-demand periods. Compliance: A fully completed DfE sheet must be submitted with your application. Residency Requirement: Candidates are required to either live in the county of Suffolk or be willing to stay in the local area for the duration of the contract. Working Hours & Hybrid Pattern: Flexible Hours: 30 hours per week, with the possibility of completing these over 4 days. Hybrid Working: A minimum of 3 days per week in the office is required, based at Uplands, York Road, Sudbury, CO10 1NF. Travel: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for covering the rural and town patches.
