Role Description The Field Geologist will work on-site in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada in a full-time capacity, supporting exploration activities at the Sudbury Basin Project. Day-to-day tasks include · Diamond drill core logging and sampling according to QA/QC protocols · Maintain and manage geological and drilling datasets · Spot new collar locations and access routes for diamond drills · Conduct field mapping and bedrock sampling · Perform drill rig inspections · Providing field support for environmental baseline studies · Uphold site-specific safety procedures and industry best practices The Field Geologist will collaborate closely with the exploration team, contractors, and technical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant field operations in varying outdoor conditions. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in Earth Science specializing in Geology. · Understanding of fundamental geological concepts including mineralogy and structural geology · Knowledge of surface drilling operations · Aptitude to learn core logging software as well as 2D and 3D GIS programs · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Valid Ontario-recognized driver’s license (safety courses an asset) · Eligible for Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designation recognized in Ontario · Knowledge of volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits is considered an asset
