Job Title: Laboratory Technician Department: Quality Assurance Reports to: Process Engineer Location: SÉMECS Biomethanization Plant Greenfield is seeking a Laboratory Technician to actively support the operations of the Varennes biomethanization plant. The incumbent is responsible for sampling, analyzing, and interpreting results related to the various stages of the biomethanization process. They actively contribute to monitoring and optimizing process performance, including wastewater treatment, in collaboration with the operations and maintenance teams. This role is part of a continuous improvement environment, involving the development and optimization of analytical methods and work practices. Key Responsibilities: Perform sampling and analyses in accordance with laboratory procedures Carry out regulatory sampling required for environmental monitoring; Perform a range of tests to verify compliance of materials with applicable requirements; Interpret analytical results and support operational decision-making; Make recommendations regarding the addition of chemicals or raw materials to optimize the process; Enter results into computer systems and validate their consistency (trend monitoring); Prepare analysis reports including tables and graphs; Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance as well as calibration of laboratory equipment in accordance with quality requirements and procedures in place; Maintain equipment maintenance and calibration records; Manage laboratory inventory, including tracking of reagents, consumables, and equipment required for analyses; Plan, perform, and coordinate sampling and shipments for external analyses in compliance with applicable protocols and requirements; Ensure sample traceability and adherence to chain of custody requirements; Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and research and development activities; Diagnose, assess, and resolve technical issues. Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in an industrial or continuous environment Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes (strong asset) College diploma (DEC) in water treatment, analytical chemistry, biotechnology, or a related field Strict compliance with requirements related to: Occupational health and safety Greenfield Global quality systems and standards environmental requirements and good operational practices Desired Profile:
