We are hiring for a full-time temporary User Experience Designer in our Digital department.
The UX Designer and Web Publisher is a key contributor within the Digital team, responsible for designing and delivering engaging, accessible, and optimized digital experiences. This hybrid role blends user-centered design with hands-on content publishing to ensure seamless, intuitive, and visually compelling experiences across Servus.ca.
Working closely with stakeholders and reporting to the Leader, Acquisition & UI/UX Design, you will lead the end-to-end design process—from research and prototyping to testing and content deployment. You’ll also manage web content within a CMS, ensuring it aligns with UX best practices, accessibility standards, SEO guidelines, and brand consistency.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and creative digital professional who is passionate about crafting user experiences that are not only functional and beautiful but also scalable and easy to maintain. Your work will directly influence how members engage with our digital platforms, making their interactions seamless and impactful.
What you'll be doing:
- Designs and delivers intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging user experiences for Servus.ca, ensuring consistency across digital touchpoints.
- Leads the end-to-end UX design process, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, user testing, and iterative design improvements.
- Manages and publishs web content within a content management system (CMS), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with UX, accessibility, SEO, and brand standards.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, present design concepts, and deliver user-focused digital solutions.
- Applies UX best practices and design thinking principles to create scalable and maintainable digital experiences.
- Monitors and optimizes website performance and user engagement through ongoing testing, analysis, and refinement.
- Advocates for accessibility and inclusive design, ensuring all web content and experiences meet WCAG standards.
- Stays current on industry trends, tools, and techniques to continuously enhance the user experience and content publishing capabilities.
What you bring:
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education in User Experience Design, Web Design, Digital Media or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in UX design and/or web content publishing, ideally in a corporate or financial services environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS), preferably Umbraco, Wordpress, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of UX principles, responsive design, accessibility standards (WCAG/AODA), and SEO best practices.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS
Analytical & Communication Skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate user needs into functional and visually compelling experiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present design concepts to stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Collaboration & Mindset
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with designers, developers, marketers, and business stakeholders.
- User-focused mindset with a passion for delivering impactful digital experiences and continuously improving design processes.
- Ability to take initiative, accept feedback, and iterate quickly in a dynamic environment.
