Job Description

We are looking for a talented Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join our growing global team at Sectigo.

The ideal candidate is an experienced cybersecurity engineer specializing in deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise security tools such as MDR, SIEM, SASE, CASB, email security platforms, etc. They will play a hands-on role in integrating and optimizing these solutions to protect the organization’s infrastructure, while actively participating in day-to-day security monitoring and incident response within a 24x7 SOC environment. This position demands strong technical expertise in security engineering, operational readiness for continuous monitoring, and the ability to ensure seamless tool performance and compliance across all layers of the security stack.

This is a full-time position, working in a hybrid model, and reporting to our Ottawa office at least 3-4 days a week.

Here are the core functions, responsibilities, and expectations for this role:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of security infrastructure and tools.

  • Develop, design, deploy, configure, and maintain security solutions and software.

  • Update and maintain security systems and software.

  • Perform continuous security monitoring and analysis.

  • Perform security and vendor assessments as needed.

  • Deploy and integrate security tools, software, platforms, and policies.

  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of the organization.

  • Identify, research, and mitigate security vulnerabilities and threats.

  • Serve as a key member of the cyber incident response team, operating within the SOC.

  • Respond to security incidents and alerts in a 24x7, 365-day environment.

  • Operate on a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule, including after-hours, night, and weekend shifts on a rotational basis.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Automate Security Processes: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline security processes and improve efficiency.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of security configurations, procedures, and incident responses to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.

  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Additional tasks associated with this position may be assigned in response to company initiatives and business needs.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field is strongly recommended.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of hands on experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise security tools is required.
  • Strong knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, and cloud security architectures.
  • Experience with continuous security monitoring and incident response in a 24x7 SOC environment.
  • Proficiency in security tool integration and troubleshooting across diverse environments.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work on a rotating on-call schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Ideal Candidate Profiles, Talents, and Desired Qualifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC, or other relevant security certifications preferred.

  • Experience integrating AI and ML with passive monitoring for cybersecurity purposes.

  • Knowledge of zero-trust architecture principles and best practices.

  • Experience in infrastructure deployments and security operations.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Experience with automation and scripting (Python, PowerShell).

  • Knowledge of SIEM platforms and log analysis for threat detection.

  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and identity-based security models.
