About the role
Reporting to a Manager, Financial Audit and Related Services, the Financial Auditor will work as part of a team on financial statement audits and other related work. This position also works as part of a team or independently, receiving assignments from the manager, and ensuring that assigned audits are conducted in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards. Auditors will interact with finance, operational and program staff of the organization being audited.

Located in downtown Victoria, B.C., the Office of the Auditor General employs approximately 120 people. The majority of our audit staff have professional accounting designations and many have additional advanced degrees and/or certification in business, public administration, law, education, social and environmental sciences, human resources or health care.
The Office is licensed as a Chartered Professional Accountant/Chartered Accountant Training Office to train students in obtaining their CPA/CA designation. We are proud to have supported student audit associates in this role for over 30 years.
The Auditor General is the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia's independent auditor. Under the Auditor General Act, the Office of the Auditor General serves the people of British Columbia and their elected representatives by conducting independent audits and advising on how well government is managing its responsibilities and resources.
