Job Title: FT Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Nanaimo, BC
Employment Type: Casual
Shift: Overnights
Hours: 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM
Hourly Rate of Pay: $43.50 to $45.50

Carecor is seeking compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our interdisciplinary healthcare team supporting clients with mental health and addictions-related needs. In this role, you will provide comprehensive client assessments, deliver treatment management, and administer medications in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

As an LPN with Carecor, you will play a key role in supporting clients throughout their recovery journey by delivering high-quality nursing care, promoting recovery-oriented strategies, and providing empathetic, client-centered support. You will collaborate closely with physicians and the broader nursing team to ensure safe and effective care while adhering to established policies and procedures.

This casual position requires flexibility to work the following shifts, nights, and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid as required and facilitate referrals for medical care based on Clinical Team recommendations
  • Monitor and complete patient detoxification scales as per Pharmacotherapy and Detox policies
  • Administer and manage patient medications as prescribed, ensuring full compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to all medication safety protocols and organizational standards
  • Support follow-up care after physician assessments, including accurate charting, appointment scheduling, and coordination of next steps
  • Deliver direct bedside care when required, including assistance with personal care and higher-acuity support (e.g., bathing, critical care needs)
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team by participating in case consultations and contributing to coordinated treatment planning as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Current LPN license in good standing
  • Trauma-informed training/experience and knowledge of mental health, addictions, and the 12-step model are assets
  • Passion for improving client outcomes through evidence-based care
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across all levels, including internal teams and external partners
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Committed to ongoing professional development and growth
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow directions
  • Physically able to meet the functional demands of the role

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Negative TB test

  • Valid First Aid/CPR Level C

  • Criminal record check (Ministry of Justice)

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standing
