What can you expect from this position?

Reporting to the Director, Concessions and Partnership Development and Experience, the Associate Director, Concessions and Partnership Experience and Operations plays a critical leadership role in driving the operational excellence, commercial performance, and customer experience of Toronto Pearson’s concessions and partnerships portfolio.

You will lead operational excellence execution partner performance and relationship management across duty free, retail, food and beverage, advertising, lounges, and strategic partnerships, while overseeing teams responsible for operations, partner delivery, and compliance. This role is accountable for non‑aeronautical revenues of $175M+, driving sustainable growth while delivering a best‑in‑class passenger experience.

As Associate Director, Concessions and Partnership Experience and Operations, you will:

  • Lead and optimize the performance of concessions, advertising, and strategic partnership programs across all terminals.
  • Act as the senior relationship manager for major partners, including duty free, advertising, financial services, telecommunications, retail, and food & beverage operators.
  • Drive commercial revenue growth through operational excellence, marketing activation, merchandising strategies, and partner collaboration.
  • Lead cross‑functional planning and delivery of commercial capital projects in partnership with construction and activation teams.
  • Manage complex commercial portfolios, including budgets, forecasts, and P&L accountability.
  • Develop and execute pricing policies, retail strategies, and space optimization plans to maximize commercial yield.
  • Oversee tenant performance, lease compliance, and service standards to ensure consistency with the Pearson brand and customer experience expectations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a diverse leadership team, fostering high performance, accountability, and engagement.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • 10 years’ of experience in an airport or commercial environment or similar with demonstrated experience in serving a large and complex customer base.
  • 10 years’ of people leadership experience, including leading managers or cross‑functional teams. Experience managing in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Proven experience in category management, strategic partnerships, retail operations, or concessions management.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing large‑scale budgets, forecasts, and commercial portfolios.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage commercial agreements, partner relationships, and drive lease compliance.
  • Experience delivering operational excellence and customer‑centric environments at scale.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to balance commercial performance, operational demands, and passenger experience.
  • A Post‑Secondary diploma or degree in Business Management, Hospitality, and/or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position.
