What You'll Be Doing
Collect aggregate samples and perform field and laboratory testing to ensure products meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Analyze, document, and communicate test results while maintaining accurate records and supporting production teams in resolving quality-related issues. Conduct quality inspections of production, stockpiles, shipping, and depot materials, including onsite sampling and troubleshooting when quality concerns arise. Collaborate with operations, sales, customers, and contractors by providing technical product support, investigating quality concerns, and communicating testing results. Support continuous improvement initiatives through research, product development, process optimization, and identifying opportunities to enhance product quality. Maintain laboratory equipment, testing instruments, and safe work practices while following established quality control procedures and site safety standards.
What We Are Looking For
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Materials Technology, Construction Materials, or a related field preferred, with one to two years of experience in aggregate, mining, construction materials, or quality control environments. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow established testing procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across operations, production, customers, and contractors. Familiarity with CSA and ASTM testing methods and experience performing laboratory or field testing of construction materials is considered an asset. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License.
Work Environment
Work is performed in both laboratory and outdoor industrial environments. Frequent travel to production sites with exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and moving equipment. Role involves standing, walking, operating testing equipment, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
