About the role
Job Description As a Director Sub Region Industrial Automation Control Systems here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing operations within a specific sub-region. You will be responsible for driving business growth, managing customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence in the Process Automation business across Canada.
You will report directly to the North American Region PAS VPGM and you’ll work out of our Calgary, Canada location on a Hybrid work schedule with an estimated 40% travel required.
In this role, you will impact the success and growth of the Process Automation business, ensuring strategic alignment, financial performance, and market expansion. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and operational efficiency, contributing to the organization's overall success and competitiveness.
Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The role is responsible for delivering sustainable business results with full AOP accountability. AOP accountability includes but is not limited to Orders, Revenue, Income, Cash Flow, CAPEX investments & headcount planning for G. China Project and Automation Solutions Line of Business.
Responsibility extends to ensuring adherence and project delivery according to Global Code of Conduct, Schedule of Executive Approvals (SEA), Global Project Methodology (GPM), Global Quality Management Systems (QMS), Health & Safety Policies as well as complying with Governance and Accounting practices and processes.
Customer Satisfaction The person hold this role will be the focal point and the most senior PAS resource for the Global PAS Business in the relevant Region. Is the final local escalation point for customers. Leads and coordinates across all functions, including Sales, Marketing, Estimation, Project Management, Project controls, Engineering, Sourcing, Factory, and Integration to ensure PAS delivers as per our commitment to customers and grow the business as per the AOP and STRAP.
P&L ownership Develops, sustains, and leverages Senior Executive relationships at the Customer, End User, Consultant and EPC organizations capable of:
- Articulating the HPS Value Proposition clearly to the correct stakeholders
- Gathering exclusive, vital business intelligence / investment plans, and exploring early engagement / partnership opportunities.
- Capturing and resolving any potential dissatisfaction / escalations,
- Being a credible and trustworthy Business Leader to the HPS executive leadership to resolve issues as mutually agreed.
Pipeline & Orders
- Lead Sales & Marketing to grow opportunity pipeline
- Review Territory / Account / TAS plans.
- Deliver AOP Orders target
- Market Pricing & LOB Approval
- Implements Value Pricing across all pursuits
- within the Area.
- Engages Marketing team to define and recommend Value Pricing for pursuits
- Review and validate cost models
- Propose LOB approval price based
- Ensure Pricing Secrecy
- Put forward intelligent risk based on sound assumptions. Develop 5 to 7 year future business “walks”
- Opportunity Approval (eGAP Reviews)
Revenue, Income & Profitability
- The PAS Regional Business Leader tracks all factors impacting Revenue/Sales, Income and Profitability for P&AS. These include the direct cost associated with projects (labour, material & 3rd party goods and services) showing up in Revenue and generating Profit and other costs impacting Income and Profitability such as:
- Depreciation from CAPEX investments
- Provisions for Past Dues outstanding > 180 Days
- Provisions for Unbilled Revenue > 360 Days
- T&E expenses
- Usage of Office Space & Office Consumables
- The PAS Regional Business Leader ensures that Revenue and Profit Plans align with AOP and Quarterly Area targets. Short term and longer term objectives are not managed in isolation but in a balanced manner. The Risk and Opportunity profile is managed appropriately and according to PAS processes and procedures.
- In all cases the PAS Regional Business Leader ensures that Business Managers and Project Managers have productivity plans and targets in place for their projects, establishes areas of synergies between projects, scrutinizes each investment dollar and then maximizes the return of any investment made.
- The PAS Regional Business Leader takes immediate action when forecasting is not accurate or when risks or opportunities are identified that could impact the Region.
Cash
- Partners with Sales and Sourcing to ensure Payment Milestones are clearly worded, unambiguous and within Honeywell’s control. Where needed Payment milestones are broken into more detail to account for large 3rd party content and/or staggered delivery schedules.
- Maximize Advances (>30%) and milestones Pre-FAT completion.
- Change orders should (where possible) be negotiated with improved payment milestones especially where cost are incurred or deliverables are already completed.
- Ensures all Projects have accurate Billing & Collection plans/forecasts, maintained and updated regularly.
- Acts quickly when collection commitments are not achieved by the Project Manager or Customer.
- Bank Guarantees (BG’s) are approved by treasury. BG’s needs to be reviewed and proactively approved where there are non standard wording.
- Project Cash Flow projections checked and agreed with Finance during the approval cycle.
Management People
- Set Clear Goals for each resource aligned with Global PAS Objectives
- Differentiate performance among the team, and take timely actions to reward & recognize employees who have delivered superior results and demonstrated consistent Honeywell behaviors.
- Contribute / participate in organization development initiatives, and identify / remove performance hurdles in an efficient manner.
- Make People Development and Performance Management a top priority.

Qualifications YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in a leadership role within Program Controls, Process Automation, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience as a people leader.
