Status: Temporary full-time
Closing Date: September 19, 2025 Job Summary The laboratory of the Principal Investigator (PI) at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to lead an implementation science project aimed at improving the quality of life for patients with lung cancer. The Postdoctoral Fellow will also assist with research projects aimed at identifying and evaluating non-invasive, evidence-based strategies to improve treatment decisions and care for older adults with cancer. The position will provide ample opportunities to collaborate with a diverse group of clinicians and clinician-researchers at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the University of Toronto, and beyond. This position will also provide several opportunities to mentor graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Toronto. Beyond research and mentoring experiences, postdoctoral scientists will have opportunities to apply for various internal and external fellowships and grants to start their independent careers. Finally, we will provide a competitive postdoctoral salary, which will be commensurate with experience. Please note that the offer for the successful candidate will be conditional and contingent on the PI's lab receiving a competitive grant to support the hiring of the Postdoctoral Fellow. The funding application will be submitted immediately after the successful candidate is identified.
Qualifications
- PhD degree obtained within the last five (5) or MD within the last ten (10) years
- Prior clinical experience in geriatrics or oncology preferred
- Able to act with discretion, tact and diplomacy
- Excellent attention to detail
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Prior publication record with at least two first authored papers
- Experience teaching and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students
- Familiarity with statistical software (e.g. SAS, R) and analytic skills are an asset
