About the role

<p><strong>SUMMARY</strong></p><p>Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, the General Labourer packs, ties, labels, counts and identifies wood using various handling equipment.</p><p></p><p><strong>Main duties</strong></p><p>·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Operate wood handling equipment on the stacking line.</p><p>·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Piling lumber by hand.</p><p>·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Band and wrap lumber.</p><p>·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Maintain a clean and organized workstation and yard.</p><p>·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Adhere to all workplace safety rules and regulations.</p><p>·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Adhere to customer service commitments.</p><p>·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Other duties as assigned.</p><p></p><p><strong>Knowledge, skills and abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Attention to detail</li><li>Able to count and identify wood products of various sizes.</li><li>Must have own steel-toe boots.</li><li>Basic math skills.</li><li>Able to lift up to 50 pounds or 23 kilograms, and heavier weights as required </li><li>Must be able to speak, read and write English</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Education</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma is an asset</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Employment Status</strong></p><ul><li>Permanent full-time</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p><strong>Compensation</strong></p><ul><li>$19.74/hr as per Schedules A &amp; B of the Collective Agreement with the United Steel Workers</li><li>Overtime may be available </li><li>Health benefits</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Working hours</strong></p><ul><li>Monday to Friday</li><li>7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.</li><li>Must be flexible with start and finish times.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Work Location:&nbsp;</strong>2916 Rockingham Rd, Combermere, ON&nbsp; K0J 1L0</p><p><strong>Note:</strong>&nbsp;Must have own reliable transportation.
