During the apprenticeship, successful applicant will work closely with a Parts/Warehouse job shadow to learn all aspects of the business. Including Supply Chain/Warehousing, Procurement, Transportation, Warranty, Cores and credits and Parts Sales Front counter and Shop.

Job Description: Major Job Duties:

  • Parts Coordination related to customer equipment maintenance and repair, for both the shop and field.
  • This position will be responsible for conducting follow-ups on quotes based on previous customer inquiries.
  • Ensure accurate required-by dates are entered into the software system and offer various freight options to customers based on their requests
  • Discuss CAT card financing options and guide customers on managing their accounts from any device.
  • Consistency in communicating estimated delivery dates to the service operations team.
  • Active engagement in the Finning safety culture and completion of Pre task assessments where required.
  • Promote part.cat.com and assist customers in navigating the site.
  • This position will be responsible for quoting, placing orders, and establishing supply chain linkages for both customer and internal service orders.
  • Ability to discuss current promotions and employ a solution-based sales approach to offer tailored products to each customer.
  • Communicate shipping options and freight estimates to the Service Operations team.
  • Follow up on requests from the service team and remain accountable until the transaction is complete.
  • General housekeeping – A place for everything and everything in its place.
  • Attend all Teams meetings, micro learnings, and trainings requested by the Regional Parts Manager.
  • Participate in parts related special projects and assignments
  • Participate in call quality and performance initiatives as required

Qualifications:

  • Second Year Parts Apprentice (completed first year) coupled with previous parts, warehouse, front counter, sales experience and Caterpillar product knowledge
  • A high performance, positive attitude and the ability to build and maintain respectful working relationships
  • Clearly demonstrate enthusiasm about their work and must be able to function effectively and purposefully in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations and potentially unhappy customers
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision
  • Computer literacy with applicable software knowledge along with shop parts experience
  • Experience with SIS, SIMSi, Lawson M3, and the MS Office Package will be considered assets
  • Industry experience in the following areas would be considered strong assets to a successful candidacy: mining, heavy construction and technology products.
