Program: Settlement & Family Services - ISIP
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time (35 hours/week)

About the Position:
The Program Coordinator supports the delivery of language services to achieve program outcomes, and is responsible to provide daily operation support, such as student recruitment, researching practical resources, developing local referral networks, compiling narrative reports and statistics as required and supporting Childminder Leads and Childminders.
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Provides orientation to language instructors
-
Provides Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) orientation to new students
-
Supports curriculum delivery and activities with Language Instructors
-
Supports monthly unit summaries from instructors ensuring Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level appropriateness
-
Recommends and facilitates professional development opportunities for staff
-
Resolves disputes or conflicts from or among students and/or clients, instructors and/or staff and seeks additional assistance from the supervisor if needed
-
Manages facilities maintenance by supervising contractors, including cleaning, maintenance, and security
-
Ensures that facilities are compliant with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including occupational health and safety standards and energy efficiency standards, agency’s safety management system, conducting monthly workplace inspections, conducting risk assessments, updating the Emergency
-
Response Manual, and monitoring completion of staff required training
-
Ensures ongoing adherence to health authority licensing standards for childminding services
-
Communicates client needs and issues to the supervisor
-
Contributes to and support the collation and writing of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
-
Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- TESL Canada 2 certificate or equivalent certification
- Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience in Canada
- Minimum of 3 years' adult teaching experience
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory/management experience
- Experience in settlement/integration services
- Experience in the social services industry
- Experience with multicultural clientele and immigrant related services
- Knowledge of community resources for newcomers to Canada
- Knowledge of intercultural and social issues
- Knowledge of CLB-based language programs
- Knowledge of the iCARE system
Job Skill and Abilities:

Additional languages are considered an asset
