We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory and Shipping Specialist to join our Hamilton operations team. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate inventory management, efficient order fulfillment, and timely shipment of materials. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, hands-on experience with warehouse operations, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced industrial or distribution environment.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Management

• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts and reconciliations.
• Record inventory movements in ERP or warehouse management systems.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventory.
• Coordinate with purchasing, production, and sales teams to ensure materials availability.
• Assist in developing and maintaining efficient storage systems for materials and finished goods.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or other heavy machinery as needed to move and organize steel inventory

Shipping and Receiving

• Collaborate with procurement, production, quality control, and sales departments to ensure smooth workflow and on-time order fulfillment
• Schedule and manage inbound/outbound shipments with freight providers, ensuring on-time deliveries and pickups
• Verify and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for quality and accuracy.
• Maintain shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs paperwork (as required).
• Load and unload trucks using appropriate material-handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).

Continuous Improvement and Compliance

• Develop and implement best practices to streamline warehouse and logistics operations
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse conditions

Requirements:

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in inventory control/ shipping/receiving or warehouse operations.
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of shipping regulations and logistics best practices.
• Experience operating material handling equipment (forklift, crane certification preferred)
• Familiarity with steel product types is a strong asset
