About Us
Acadian Computer Service is a Kingston-based Managed Service Provider (MSP) delivering IT support, cybersecurity, and cloud services to businesses across the region. We're a small, hands-on team that takes pride in being our clients? trusted technology partner. Our business has grown through reputation and referrals - and now we're ready to take the next step by building our marketing from the ground up.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Marketing Coordinator to be our first dedicated marketing hire. This is a rare chance to step in with a blank canvas. You'll be working directly with ownership to define what marketing looks like at Acadian and then bringing it to life. This role starts as part-time with a clear path to grow into a full-time position as results take shape. We're investing in someone who wants to build the business with us.
What You'll Do
- Help us develop a marketing strategy from the ground up - there isn't one yet, and we're looking for you to help shape it.
- Keep our social media channels active and engaging with consistent, professional content.
- Write and refresh content for our website and our clients' websites.
- Market additional services to our existing client base through email, campaigns, and outreach
- Generate qualified leads through digital channels, partnerships, and local visibility.
- Plan and run our presence at local business events, networking opportunities, and community sponsorships
- Help us evaluate and implement a sales/CRM tool to track leads and the customer journey
- Track what's working, what isn't, and adjust based on real results.
Who We're Looking For
We're open to candidates who are early in their careers. If you're a recent marketing graduate (or about to be) who hasn't worked in a business setting yet but is eager to apply what you've learned, we want to hear from you. Even if you've no college diploma but have personality and a passion for business we want to hear from you.
You likely have:
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
- Strong writing skills and a good eye for clean, professional design.
- Comfort with social media platforms in a professional context.
- Curiosity about how businesses grow, and willingness to learn the tech and MSP space.
- Self-direction - you can take an idea and run with it without needing constant check-ins.
- Good judgment about what's worth doing and what isn't
Nice to have, but not required:
- Hands-on experience with tools like Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress, or Meta Business Suite.
- Familiarity with CRM or sales-tracking tools
- Some understanding of B2B marketing or selling to small and mid-sized businesses
- Photography, basic video editing, or graphic design skills.
Why This Role
- Real ownership: this is your marketing function to build - you'll see the impact of your work directly.
- Direct access to ownership and decision-makers
- Growth path from part-time to full-time as results are demonstrated.
- A chance to build a portfolio of real-world results
- Supportive environment for someone making the jump from school to business
How to Apply
Send us your resume along with a short note (no formal cover letter needed) telling us: (1) why this role interests you, and (2) one marketing idea you'd want to try at an MSP like ours. We'd rather see a few real thoughts than a polished template.
We review applications as they come in and will reach out to candidates who seem like a strong fit. Thanks in advance for your interest.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Benefits:
- Casual dress
- Dental care
- Flexible schedule
