Could you be the full-time Interface Engineering Specialist in Toronto, ON we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your engineering expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, detail-oriented, and innovative teammates.
You'll play a key role in identifying, managing, and resolving technical interfaces within the GO Expansion project, particularly as they relate to Alstom's scope of work. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (civil works, overhead catenary systems, traction power facilities, cabling, and cable containment), lead the development of Interface Control Documents, and manage interface-related deliverables to ensure on-time performance and KPI reporting.
You’ll specifically take care of defining system interfaces and ensuring their consistency and completeness, but also identifying risks, scope gaps, and opportunities for improvement as project requirements evolve.
We’ll look to you for:
- Identifying and defining system interfaces relevant to civil works and internal stakeholders, including maintaining an interface matrix and register
- Leading, contributing to, and managing System Interface Control Documents (ICD) with external and internal stakeholders
- Identifying output requirements from ICDs applicable to Alstom subsystems
- Reviewing designs and actively participating in requirements management to ensure interface consistency and completeness
- Managing interface-related deliverables to meet deadlines and KPI goals
- Identifying risks, scope gaps, and grey areas, and escalating issues as needed
- Adapting to changes in project scope, requirements, and design maturity

- University degree in Engineering or relevant railway/system engineering experience
- 5–7 years of experience in System Engineering with a focus on Interface Management, or 5 years in a railway engineering environment, or 5 years in a civil engineering design role
- Experience working in heavy rail and/or with Metrolinx/GO Transit (preferred)
- Experience with railway signalling and communication systems, cabling, or cable containment (preferred)
- Proficiency in interface management within complex projects
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of rail construction environments and engineering practices
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication, and a self-motivated, detail-oriented mindset
- Ability to adapt and learn new techniques in a dynamic environment

Compensation
The expected compensation for this role is**$90,000 – $120,000 CAD**per year, plus benefits and eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
