THE OPPERTUNITY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our Vancouver team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting transactions, supporting month-end processes, and assisting with financial reporting requirements. This role is ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping fundamentals who enjoys taking ownership of their work, is eager to grow their accounting skills, and thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Full-Cycle Bookeeping

Maintain accurate financial records and process day-to-day accounting transactions. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Perform general ledger entries and maintain account accuracy. Process payroll and ensure payroll-related records are maintained. Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing activities. Maintain organized accounting files and supporting documentation.

Reconciliations & Financial Records

Complete monthly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations. Review transactions for accuracy and proper account coding. Track monthly expenses and ensure proper allocation to general ledger accounts. Assist with maintaining accurate financial records for company operations.

Project Accounting & Cost Tracking

Assist with job costing and project cost tracking. Support the preparation and maintenance of work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and reports. Review project-related expenses and ensure accurate recording.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

Process vendor invoices, including coding, approvals, and payment preparation. Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries. Prepare customer invoices and support timely collection of receivables. Communicate professionally with vendors, clients, and external parties.

Cash Managerment & Reporting Support

Assist with cash management activities, including processing deposits, e-transfers, and payment transactions. Reconcile banking activities and monitor cash movements. Prepare financial and ad hoc reports as required.

Tax, Year-End & Audit Support

Prepare and submit GST filings. Assist with year-end accounting preparation. Support external accountants and auditors by providing required financial records and documentation. Maintain organized electronic filing systems.

Qualifications & Skills

3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. Strong understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping processes. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience with job costing, project accounting, or WIP reporting. Experience working in construction, real estate development, or a project-based environment.
