The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and
delivering strategic corporate communications that support Northern Credit Union’s priorities, strengthen its reputation, and enhance employee and stakeholder understanding of the organization’s purpose, values, and strategic direction. The role develops communication strategies, messaging, and content that support enterprise initiatives, organizational change, and business objectives while ensuring communications are consistent, timely, and aligned with Northern’s brand.
Working closely with leaders, project teams, and other business partners, the
Corporate Communications Specialist acts as a trusted communications advisor by providing expertise, guidance, and support throughout the planning and execution of organizational initiatives. The role builds strong relationships, identifies communication needs and opportunities, and ensures stakeholders are effectively engaged through clear, compelling, and meaningful communications that support successful outcomes.
The Corporate Communications Specialist creates and delivers a wide range of
communication materials, including communication plans, key messages, executive communications, presentations, newsletters, intranet content, media releases, and stakeholder updates. Through strong writing, storytelling, and strategic communication practices, the role helps reinforce Northern’s culture, support change adoption, enhance stakeholder confidence, and ensure employees remain connected to the organization’s priorities and goals.
Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related communications role.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing corporate communication strategies for internal and external audiences, including support for organizational change initiatives and enterprise projects.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using digital communication, collaboration, content management, and content creation tools.
- Strong relationship-building and consulting skills, with the ability to advise leaders, influence stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.

Salary Range: $58,400.00 to $73,000.00
