Your contribution!

Responsible for supporting the tax team in its efforts and will make a significant contribution to the mission and objectives of Innergex’s tax group.

Your day-to-day!

Financial information and internal collaboration:

  • Participate in the tax provision process for Innergex Group entities and assist with the preparation of tax notes to the financial statements.

Canadian tax compliance:

  • Participate in the entire process of preparing federal and provincial Canadian tax returns for entities, ensuring that statutory deadlines are met and tax elections are filed on time, and researching, analyzing, and reviewing tax positions;
  • Conduct certain tax research and document the tax positions taken (corporate income tax, property taxes, transfer taxes, etc.);
  • Prepare estimated tax schedules, calculate the amounts due, and ensure that payments are made on time;
  • Prepare tax forms (T5, T4A-NR, T2200, etc.);
  • Prepare and review certain forms, calculations, and tax elections;
  • Support audit processes for Canadian entities or any other entities within the company (internal, external, and government agencies).

Tax Planning and Strategic Support:

  • Update the financial projections of taxes payable for Canadian entities or any other entities within the company; Support other team members during acquisition or reorganization transactions.

Your skills, our requirements!

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting;
  • A master’s degree in taxation (or currently pursuing one) is a plus;
  • Experience in corporate taxation or at a major accounting firm;
  • Strong knowledge of taxation combined with a strong practical sense;
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills;
  • Ability to adapt to change in a rapidly growing, global environment;
  • A strong sense of ethics and professional integrity;
  • Know how to foster innovation, synergies, and continuous improvement;
  • Knowledge of international taxation is a plus;
  • Corporate Taxprep – Taxprep Forms ;
  • TaxNet Pro ;
  • Interest in computer tools and strong proficiency in using Excel;
  • A CPA is a plus;
  • Experience with consolidation software (One Stream) and Oracle software is a plus;
  • Knowledge of tax planning and optimization is a plus.
  • Bilingualism (French and English, both spoken and written) required to ensure collaboration with various stakeholders outside Quebec on a recurring basis.

  • The position is based at the company's head office in Longueuil, steps away from the Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station.
  • This position is a P2 level.
