The Data Engineer will build and operate data pipelines, implement transformations, and support validation/testing for the GCP data platform.

Your future duties and responsibilities

• Develop ingestion pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Datastream
• Implement transformation logic (DBT/Dataform/SQL) for Silver/Gold layers
• Build incremental pipelines and handle schema evolution
• Implement data validation, reconciliation, and data quality checks
• Optimize BigQuery performance (partitioning, clustering, query tuning)
• Support Power BI data consumption (views, aggregates)

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• 4–7 years in data engineering
• Strong SQL; hands-on with BigQuery (or Snowflake/Redshift equivalent)
• Experience with Dataflow (Apache Beam) or similar ETL tools
• Experience with Airflow/Composer for orchestration
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows and CI/CD

Nice to Have

• Experience with DBT
• Experience handling CDC pipelines (Datastream/Debezium)

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail

• Ability to work in fast-paced Agile teams

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $95,000–$145,000. This role is a future opportunity.
