About This Role:
Workplace Arrangements:
This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road 2 days a week and could be asked to come onsite for additional days as per business needs.
Purpose: Giant Tiger's product assortment will adhere to our social compliance and product testing standards.
What You'll Be Doing:

Implement supplier social compliance and sourcing standards

Complete a review of product safety testing to support our sourcing requirements for softgoods (fashion) and hardgoods products

Complete product claim approvals
-
Provide information to the business (such as Category, Replenishment and Suppliers) on ways Giant Tiger can become more sustainable

Identify, implement testing procedures for Giant Tiger products and review results
What You'll Bring:

Degree in related field - science, engineering, business
-
1-2 years experience and understanding of various product quality standards and processes in hardgoods, softgoods, grocery retail or manufacturing and/or responsible sourcing programs

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
-
Strong risk assessment skills
-
High level of attention to detail
-
Strong understanding of product quality testing methodologies, lab report interpretation

Experience liaising with external regulatory and government bodies
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
Experience with evaluating and onboarding suppliers to comply with responsible sourcing programs.

Demonstrated experience us MS Office, including Excel

Salary
$51,600.00 - $77,500.00
What Giant Tiger Offers:
Competitive Compensation: The salary range for this position is listed above. Giant Tiger will consider factors such as experience, skills and internal equity to ensure you are paid competitively.
Retirement Support: We contribute 6% of your annual base salary to a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP) on your behalf, no employee contribution required.
Health Benefits and Paid Time Off: Access to our flexible, cost-shared health and dental benefits (available on hire) and annual paid time off, including personal and vacation days, plus additional paid holiday time between Christmas and New Year’s.
