Position Overview
As a Houseperson at Cape Breton, you will play an essential role in support our housekeeping operations and ensuring an exceptional experience for every guest. You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of service areas. Your work directly supports our Room Attendants and contributes to the smooth flow of daily operation. By ensuring linen, supplies, and equipment are readily available, assisting – and by keeping all areas tidy and presentable – you will help uphold Cabot Cape Breton’s high standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and guest service
You Will Thrive In This Role If You Enjoy
- Maintaining Clean, Organized Spaces: Take pride in keeping guest areas, public spaces, and service zones neat, safe, and welcoming.
- Precision and Care: Pay close attention to detail when cleaning, restocking, and handling supplies to uphold Cabot’s high standards.
- Supporting Guest Comfort: Provide courteous assistance when needed, ensuring guests feel valued and cared for.
- Collaborating with Your Team: Work seamlessly with housekeeping colleagues to deliver efficient, high-quality service.
- Managing Time Effectively: Stay organized and complete tasks promptly while maintaining exceptional quality.
Preferred Qualifications And Skills
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Information System (WHMIS)
- Previous housekeeping experience is an asset
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Requirements Of The Role You Should Be Aware Of
- Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests; to work with us, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years.
- As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work.
- Long hours moving around, walking, bending, standing, and crouching while performing other duties is to be expected
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and otherwise exerting up to 250 pounds of force
- Ability to ascend or descent, stairs and ramps on an occasional basis
- Ability to work with and around chemicals, and registered products and safely follow product labels
- Ability to manage timeline pressures and constraints in a fast-paced environment.
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Repetitive kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, bending, crouching, crawling and twisting.
