Position: Student - Clinic Reception (Campus Clinic)

**Reports to:**Director, Clinic Operations and Initiatives

**Shifts:**Campus Clinic Hours of Operation:
8:00am – 8:00pm (with 1-hour unpaid lunch); shifts will be determined by manager

**Compensation:**General Minimum Wage (ON): Currently $17.60 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

As front-line reception, this position is responsible for all administrative duties – delivering superb patient service, accurately inputting patient data, and providing administrative support for teams of clinicians and interns. Excellent communication skills, computer literacy, and a strong customer service outlook are required. This is a casual role providing support when main receptionist is away.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Books patient appointments, notifies clinicians and interns of changes and special issues concerning the schedule or patients.

  • Greets approximately 80 patients per day, confirms any changes to their appointment and records their information into a patient management computer system. Records clinic billing and cash receipt transactions into patient management system (OSCAR).

  • Processes cash receipts by taking payment from each patient, makes change, and issues receipts.

  • Acts as main point of contact for the clinic area, answering telephones, transferring calls, taking messages, and notifying interns and staff of appointment arrivals.

  • Performs additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CMCC students going into Years II or III for the 2026/2027 academic year.

  • Previous administrative experience an asset.

  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Experience working with patient populations with specialized psychosocial issues an asset.

  • Strong computer literacy, particularly Excel and Outlook.

  • Proven ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and cooperatively with other team members.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to conduct matters with tact and diplomacy.

  • Well organized with ability to adapt quickly to fluctuating priorities and time sensitive date requirements.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
