About the role

Introduction Brunel is currently seeking a Pharmacy Assistant (Intake) to support a high-volume specialty pharmacy operation in Hamilton/Stoney Creek. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate prescription intake, timely medication dispensing, and coordination across internal teams and healthcare partners. This is a two-month contract opportunity with strong potential for extension and longer-term opportunities based on performance and business needs. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on pharmacy experience and strong Kroll system proficiency who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. Schedule & Hours 37.5 hours/week (7.5-hour shifts) Rotating shifts (Mon-Sun): 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Responsibilities Data entry and accurate processing of prescription orders Support prescription filling, documentation, and collation processes Assist with intake workflows and scheduling of medication orders Communicate with patients and healthcare providers to support prescription processing and renewals Manage inbound calls and route inquiries appropriately Ensure billing documentation is complete (e.g., ODB, LU codes, LOA, SAP requirements) Monitor workflow to ensure timely dispensing and delivery of medications Collaborate with internal teams (warehouse, shipping, customer service) to prioritize orders Support ongoing system transition activities and adapt to new processes Maintain accurate records including scanning, filing, and documentation tracking Assist with light stock handling and general administrative support

Requirements Pharmacy Assistant Certificate or relevant pharmacy experience Strong Kroll system experience (required) Experience in retail or specialty pharmacy environments preferred Exposure to Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) billing is an asset Pharmacy Technician designation (OCP) is an asset High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Strong communication skills (patients, healthcare providers, internal teams) Reliable with strong attendance and professionalism Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and handle stress effectively Comfortable adapting to new systems and processes
