JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Supervision & Team Leadership
- Provide daily oversight and coaching to Loan Support Specialist(s) supporting retail portfolios.
- Monitor workflow, set priorities, and ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Mentor team members to build technical expertise in retail loan documentation.
Loan Administration Oversight
- Ensure accurate preparation, processing, and maintenance of retail loan documentation.
- Oversee disbursements, renewals, and related administrative tasks.
- Support timely and efficient processing that enables strong member outcomes and frontline staff.
Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure all activities comply with credit union policies, risk frameworks, and Canadian regulatory standards.
- Conduct quality reviews of loan files, documentation, and disbursement accuracy.
- Address errors or compliance issues promptly and implement corrective measures.
Process Improvement & Operational Support
- Collaborate with Member Experience teams to streamline processes and align with organizational priorities.
- Recommend changes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and member experience.
- Participate in operational projects and system enhancements related to retail lending.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Provide regular reports to the COO on workload, performance, and risk/compliance issues.
- Collaborate with peers in Commercial/Ag, Risk, and Member Experience to ensure consistency of standards and practices.
Other Duties
- Assist with documentation or processing during peak workload or staff absences.
- Support business continuity and other cross-functional initiatives as required.
Education & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in retail lending administration.
- Experience working directly with lending systems and core banking platforms.
Preferred
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related discipline, preferred.
- Familiarity with Manitoba’s credit union regulatory environment, including DGCM, preferred.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a financial services environment, preferred.
Core Skills and Competencies
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements for retail credit
- Communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to coach and motivate staff.
- Process improvement and workflow design skills.
- Ability to analyze operational data and identify trends.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Familiarity with credit union cooperative values and member-first culture.
