About the role

NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Procurement Specialist to support our expanding operations in equipment and construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage sourcing, supplier selection, and negotiations for equipment, materials, and construction services.
  • Issue purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, and ensure adherence to contractual terms.
  • Collaborate closely with Construction, Engineering/Technical, Accounting, and Finance teams to define procurement requirements and align with project timelines.
  • Conduct cost analysis, market research, and supplier performance evaluations to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ensure compliance with CRA, audit, and company requirements.
  • Support the development of procurement strategies to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Review and process supplier invoices in coordination with the Accounting and Finance teams, and track payment status to ensure timely settlements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering or Business administration Field
    • Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or
    • Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving skills with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with ERP and/or SAP software is an asset

Preferred Requirements:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing plant, industrial facilities, or construction projects.
  • Professional background in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of vendor management, contract law, and sourcing best practices.
  • Relevant procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in equipment, construction, or industrial projects
