Senior IT Manager

Summary
The HoneyBadger team is looking for a Senior IT Manager to lead and scale our IT function across a growing portfolio of companies. We are looking for like-minded individuals who display grit, integrity, hard work, and an ability to think outside the box. Someone who can operate strategically while remaining close to the technology and day-to-day operations.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical depth with leadership capability, business judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. They will own and drive all aspects of IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, service delivery, and long-term technology planning.
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and enjoys wearing multiple hats. We are seeking an experienced professional to play a key role in building systems and supporting the continued growth of the organization.
This is a full-time, fully onsite position based out of our downtown Vancouver office.
Key Responsibilities
Own and lead the company’s IT function, including infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and operational support. Develop and execute the IT roadmap, to support growth and operational priorities. Oversee day-to-day IT operations across endpoints, networks, cloud services, identity/access management, and core business platforms. Act as the primary owner of cybersecurity, including policies, monitoring, incident response, access controls and best practices. Maintain and optimize IT infrastructure, ensuring performance, reliability, scalability and security. Standardize and improve IT processes, including onboarding/offboarding, asset management, patching, documentation, and system access governance. Lead vendor and technology partner relationships, including MSPs, telecom providers, software vendors, licensing, renewals, and cost optimization initiatives. Own disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including backup validation, recovery testing, and operational readiness. Partner with leadership, Operations, Finance, and HR to identify technology needs and implement effective solutions. Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support across the organization while delivering a high level of service to internal users. Research and evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance productivity, scalability, and security.
Skills & Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, IT operations, or related roles. 3+ years of experience leading IT initiatives, projects, or teams in a senior or ownership capacity. Strong hands-on experience supporting Windows and Mac environments in modern workplace ecosystems. Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs, firewalls, segmentation, and monitoring. Experience implementing cybersecurity best practices, including MFA, endpoint protection, patch management, and incident response. Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate independently. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical business guidance. Proven ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network +, or Microsoft/Azure certifications are an asset.
