The Opportunity: AON Inc. is seeking a talented, self-motivated Financial Reporting Analyst to join our dynamic finance and accounting team. This role offers an exciting challenge with opportunities for professional growth and advancement, supporting diverse operations across multiple business segments.
Key Responsibilities: • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. • Analyze financial results versus budgets and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations to senior management. • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for owned and managed properties. • Support audit activities and maintain internal control compliance. • Perform ad hoc financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making. • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS, ASPE, US GAAP) and government reporting requirements, including Ministry of Health reconciliations. • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
Qualifications: • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline. • CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA. • 1–3 years of financial reporting and analysis experience for long-term care operators. • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, including: o IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) – global accounting rules for consistent financial reporting, often used by publicly accountable companies. o ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises) – simplified Canadian standards tailored for private companies. o US GAAP (United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) – standard accounting rules used in the United States. • Familiarity with long-term care regulations and Ministry of Long-Term Care funding mechanisms is required. • Advanced proficiency with financial systems, Excel, and related technology. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
