The Role
We’re looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer who is ready to take ownership of projects, work across the stack, and contribute to scaling systems used by major airlines worldwide. You’ll design front-end experiences, build backend systems, and harness the power of AI and data pipelines. You’ll also mentor junior teammates and collaborate closely with senior engineers, product managers, and data scientists. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow into technical leadership while still being very hands-on.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain backend services in Python, applying modern frameworks and practices.
- Work with PostgreSQL/Aurora and BigQuery to design schemas and queries for big
data.
- Design and build user-friendly front-end applications in React/TypeScript.
- Collaborate with data scientists to bring ML and AI models into production at scale.
- Use AI development tools intelligently to accelerate delivery, while always validating outputs.
- Provide thoughtful peer reviews and PR feedback, helping maintain code quality and consistency.
- Build APIs for external integrations (Amadeus, Sabre, Navitaire, etc.).
- Improve infrastructure and automation with Kubernetes/EKS and Terraform.
- Take ownership of medium-to-large projects, from design through production rollout.
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
What We’re Looking For
- 3 - 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and big data systems (BigQuery preferred).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with collaborative development processes (code reviews, PR discipline, agile teamwork).
- Ability to balance speed and quality - pragmatic, not dogmatic.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A desire to take on more responsibility and grow into leadership over time.
Bonus Points
- Experience productionizing ML/AI models.
- Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes in production.
- Background in airline/travel technology or large-scale transactional systems.
- Contributions to open source or evidence of initiative in side projects.
