The Role
Endeavour is seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Vice-President, Information Technology to lead our IT Division and shape the digital backbone that powers our organization. In this volunteer senior leadership role, you will champion innovation, oversee core systems and platforms, and build and guide a high-performing IT team. Your leadership will ensure seamless operations across the organization and help propel Endeavour into its next stage of growth.
In this volunteer senior leadership role, your immediate priority will be to spearhead our migration from Google Workspace to Microsoft 365, while building the digital infrastructure and team capacity to support our growing organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
- Set and lead the vision, strategy, and priorities for Endeavour’s Information Technology team, ensuring alignment with organizational mission, growth objectives, and long-term strategic plan.
- Define and maintain an IT roadmap that supports scalability, security, and operational excellence across the organization.
- Establish and uphold standards for IT governance, data security, system reliability, and technology best practices.
- Identify emerging technologies and digital opportunities to improve internal operations, volunteer experience, and service delivery.
IT systems and infrastructure oversight
- Provide strategic oversight of Endeavour’s core technology platforms (Microsoft 365 suite), cloud-based applications (Salesforce) and other core technology systems.
- Ensure IT systems are well-integrated, user-friendly, and effectively support volunteers, staff, and leadership by conducting a comprehensive review of the current IT tool stack and make strategic recommendation on tool consolidation, integration and future investment,
- Guide continuous improvement of IT processes, policies, and documentation to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Oversee website updates and ensure continuity of external communications.
- Coordinate with external IT solution consultants.
- Partner with other divisions to ensure technology solutions meet evolving organizational and stakeholder needs.
- With respect to Google to Microsoft transition this role will provide oversight on; (i) email migration and identity management (access management/authentication protocols); (ii) document management and collaboration (implement intuitive document hierarchy, permissions, version control, workflows); (iii) team collaboration and communication (deploy Microsoft Teams, meeting management and file collaboration).
Cross-functional collaboration
- Collaborate closely with leaders across all teams to align IT capabilities with program and operational priorities.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the Senior Leadership Team on technology-related initiatives.
- Represent IT in the Senior Leadership Team and contribute to organization-wide frameworks, policies, and lessons learned.
As Vice-President, Information Technology, you will also be responsible for general management and leadership functions, including:
- Recruit, manage, mentor, and support volunteers within the IT division.
- Develop annual divisional goals, work plans, and success metrics, and support performance evaluation and development.
- Report divisional progress, risks, and priorities to the CEO and contribute to organizational policy development.
- Support succession planning and capacity building within the IT team to ensure continuity and sustainability.
- Participate in regular Senior Leadership Team and cross-functional leadership meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Minimum two-year commitment to Endeavour Volunteer Consulting for Non-Profits.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online,
- SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and leading complex initiatives.
- Strong understanding of information technology systems, platforms, and best practices.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate organizational needs into effective technology solutions.
- Ability to engage with and advise senior leaders on strategic and operational issues.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and deliver results in a virtual, volunteer-driven environment.
- Interest in and commitment to the non-profit and social impact sector.
Preferred:
- Previous Endeavour volunteer experience.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, MS-700 Teams Administrator).
- Experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g. Sharepoint).
- Experience with website management and DNS/domain configuration.
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, or similar systems.
- Experience developing IT governance frameworks, policies, or roadmaps in a growing organization.
