About the role
The Cash Administration Associate must contribute to the timely and accurate posting of customer payments, refunds, returns and transfer requests. The Cash Administration Associate is responsible to ensure compliance with all Cash Administration and Corporate policies and procedures
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accurate payment and return postings.
- Lock box account investigation, PAD Return investigation, sort incoming mail and Lock box mail.
- Investigate and resolve customers’ missing or misapplied payments.
- Communicate with customers on payment investigation through written correspondence, email and over the phone.
- Liaise with Financial Reporting on all GL entries and provide supporting back up.
- Investigate, prepare and issue refund cheques for customer over payments.
- Investigate, prepare and issue phone payment refunds for customer over payments.
- Apply return payments on customer accounts for reasons such as NSF, Account Closed.
- Credit balance transfers and payment application.
- Communicate with CSR’s on all Cash Administration issues.
- Liaise with Financial Institutions on bank requests and payment issues.
- Use of Salesforce for Incoming correspondence, refunds, credit balance transfers and exceptions.
- Update and maintain statistical reports with daily count of activities.
- Ensure accuracy of all postings in order to meet Bank Reconciliation key performance indicators with external vendor.
- Participate and contribute to all projects both external and internal.
- Participate in internal and external audits on Cash Admin processes.
- Promote process improvement within the Cash Administration Team and Liaise with Internal business partners on process improvement.
- Provide updates on changes to Policies and Procedures.
- Other cash administration duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Accounting background is an asset, knowledge attained from University, College or a minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a Financial role.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- SAP and Salesforce experience is an asset.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows, People Soft, WinZip and Appian.
- Well organized, detail orientated, analytical and ability to problem solve.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to listen and communicate verbally or in writing.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrate excellent multitasking and time management skills.
- Excellent work ethics with a positive attitude.
- Very strong attention to detail/accuracy.
